Usually during the spring season, trails can be iffy at best. Mountain biking normally takes a back seat for me, and in it's place is trail running. Shoes are less of an impact on the trails than tires, so when the weather turns wet you can find me running along the single track instead of riding.
One of the great aspects of trail running to me is the ability to really see your surroundings. While on a mountain bike, you might ride right by something interesting. But with trail running, at your slower pace you notice things that you might not have before. Your slower pace really helps you get to know the trail better. Knowing the trail better will help you once the trails are dry and wheels are spinning again!
If you have never given it a try, get out and do it! Running in the woods is WAY better than running along the road. If you do trail run, what's your favorite trail? Post it up below!
