Since the rain has moved on from the region for the day, and the temperature was decent, my son and I decided to explore French Park. Part of the Cincinnati Parks family, French Park has a very diverse group of trails that cover the 275 acres.
The trails really make great use of the wooded space available to them. Gentle climbs, a few steep climbs, and this time of year waterfalls:
Like a lot of trails in the area, it seems that French Park was also hit pretty hard by the Emerald Ash Borer, as lots of trees are down throughout the park. This unfortunately is the norm nowadays, but in time the forest will bounce back like it always does.
Our hike was only around 2 miles, but there were also a few other trails that we did not explore. I have no issue with making a return trip to see them all!
