With the pleasant temperatures, it was time to explore more of the riverbed today. My new favorite trail area was perfect for riding, and from the looks of the trails someone is using them. More so on foot it seems, but they are getting used. I need to figure out who officially owns the property, either the county or the apartment complex, and see if a legit trail system could be built!
After the trail area, I started to explore more of the river banks of the Little Miami River. Riding along the river is pretty amazing. No need for trails, just spinning up and over pretty much everything in your path. Until I stumbled onto this:
This old homesite was standing out like a sore thumb. A few stone pillars surrounded the area, which made me think that an elevated house used to stand here.
It's amazing that I have ridden past this spot thousands of times, and never once noticed it. This spot is only around fifty feet from the bike path!
After checking out the area and taking pictures, I hike a biked my way back to the path and spun myself home. I'm getting used to this weather, hopefully it sticks around.
