Yellow Springs 2-Day/1-Night Bike Touring & Camping Trip
Do you enjoy camping? And cycling? Put the two together! Learn how to travel and camp off of your own two-wheels! Great Miami Outfitters is offering a hands-on 2-day bike/1-night touring trip from Downtown Miamisburg to John Bryan State Park along the scenic and beautiful Great Miami River Recreational Trail! Along the trail, we practice Leave No Trace Principles, map navigation, pacing and more!
We are offering two options for participating in this trip.
During registration, let us know which option works best for you!
A. Ride self-contained
You will ride with all of their gear for the weekend on your bike.
B. Ride supported
We will transport your gear up to the campsite for you.
We will be cycling a total of 76 miles.
Tuesday, May 3: Pre-Trip Meeting will be held at Great Miami Outfitters’ Broken Paddle Multi-Purpose Classroom from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Our instructor-guides will cover logistics, trip details, and answer any questions. Attendance is mandatory.
Saturday, May 7: We will meet at Great Miami Outfitters in the morning to prepare for our Saturday ride. While on the trail, we’ll take breaks to discuss the importance of “Leave No Trace” principles, practice outdoor sanitation, cycling techniques and more! We will continue to the campsite at John Bryan State Park where we will meet our support vehicle and set up camp, and enjoy the evening with meals and conversation. Total cycling for Day 1 is 38 miles.
Sunday, May 8: Another day of riding is ahead of us. And this time downhill! We will ride back to Miamisburg arriving early in the afternoon. Again, Day 2 is 38 miles.
